Darren Goddard

Born in Southend on Sea, Essex

Expelled from school in his final year Darren went on to pursue his love, Art.

His first break came with a cartoon strip called "Dudes" for "BOARDS
WINDSURFING MAGAZINE".
Then after completing "THE PRINCES TRUST'" course in small businesses
he went on to open his first gallery "ARTY-FARTY", which later became
"THE DARREN GODDARD GALLERY" in Leigh on Sea, Essex. During which time
he created "THE ALTERNATIVE ART TRAIL" an annual event held in
opposition to "THE LEIGH ART TRAIL" (which only a select few can
enter! The Altenative art trail allowed any artist to take part).
The gallery lasted 3 years in which time another cartoon strip came
about "ZIP GUN" (adult entertainment).
Moving to Andalucia, Spain in 2004 his artwork took on a new aspect,
the vibrancy of Spain along with the culture put passion and colour
into Darrens work.
The topical bullfight with the fabulous matadors like Miguel Angel
Perera and Enrique Ponce  were the first of a series of paintings
along with the passion and energy of flamenco.
Showing and selling his work  through local tapas bars led to a one
man show at Mama Ines, Madrid with more planned.

Darrens work can be seen and bought at
Mama Ines (april 12th - May 12th 2009) Madrid
Mesa Bar, Mojacar
El Almendro, Bar / Restuarant "La Mela, Sorbas"
